100 Club - Gareth's story

Fifteen-year-old Gareth from Ramsbottom only goes to school for three months a year, but he doesn't get in trouble for it, and he's still going to pass his GCSEs.

For nine months of the year Gareth is known as Bippo the Clown and travels with a Zippo's touring circus.

While he's on the road he continues with his school work via distance learning. He gets regular work packs and visits from the local Education Authority and he has lessons in his caravan.

His friends he makes at regular school think that his life is cool and some want to go along to the circus to see what it's like.

He also has friends at the circus, but they can change from year to year.
