The
'ghost Walk' is organised and run by Margaret Green who has had
her fair share of encounters.
Margaret
started the walk by telling us a bit about herself and some of these
encounters so it was a nice introduction and gave an idea of someone
who is definitely an authority on the hauntings of Lincolnshire.

| The
ghost walk takes you past Lincoln Cathedral |
The
walks take place 52 weeks of the year and run on Wednesday, Friday
and Saturday at 7pm. The route takes in the Cathedral Quarter of
the City but on Thursday you can go on an alternative route where
you walk down Lincoln's famous Steep Hill.
We
as the BBCi team went out wrapped up nice and warm to get a taste
of supernatural Lincoln on one of Margaret's Friday walks.

Now,
I've been on a few ghost walks in various different cities and they
can range from the spooky tales to people jumping out at you at
every corner.
Margaret's
ghost walk is like the first - spooky tales set against the magnificent
backdrop of historic Lincoln with as important as the ghost stories
a quick history lesson on the city as well.

The
walk we were on had various different people - there was a large
group of friends doing something 'different' on a Friday night before
hitting the pubs, a few couples - maybe visitors to the city and
an eclectic mix of others (which I'll put the BBCi team - Michelle,
Ailsa and myself into).
 |
| A
rather weathered gargoyle watched us near then end of the walk
|
Was
it scary? Well, it was spooky - Margaret certainly knows how to
tell a chilling tale with panache - in fact Michelle did scream
once during the walk, I'm not too sure weather it was the bang of
a firework, the sound of Lincoln Cathedral's bell or was it something
else...
To
get on the ghost walk all you have to do is meet at the Tourist
Information Centre, Castle Square at 7pm on Wednesday, Thursday,
Friday or Saturday (although Margaret asks that you arrive 5 to
10 minutes before the start time).
Adults
£3.00 and Children (under 12) £2.00.
