Saturdays were my favourite days when I was a kid. I'd get
up, get dressed and then run downstairs to get my breakfast.
"Right can we go to Nan and Grandad's, now Dad, please,
please can we go?" My dad would say, "not yet Emma,
it's not time." Then a few hours later, it was time to
go- yes, at last.
On the way to my Nan and Grandad's, we'd call and get some
fish and chips for dinner. It was great! I loved going to
see my Nan and Grandad, I could never wait to get there.
At
last we'd arrive. We'd knock on the door and Nan would answer.
Me and my brother would run past Nan and go straight to Grandad.
I loved him so much!
He'd
tickle us and play cards with us. Then it'd be time for dinner.
Me,
my brother, my mum and Nan would sit to the table, while my
dad and Grandad would sit in the front room, watching snooker
and maybe a western.
After dinner, I'd run into the room and eat my cake with my
Grandad.
When
it was time to go, I'd say, "see you later alligator,"
and my Grandad would reply, "in a while crocodile."
My Grandad died 8 years ago, but those were great times...
I'll never forget.
