Aaron
has already beaten 75,000 other hopefuls to be one of the top 150
chosen to make it through to boot camp, where judges Simon Cowell,
Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh will be putting the hopefuls through
their paces.
So
does this mean Aaron will be giving up cabbying and cabaret in Blackpool?
We asked him what it's like to face those judges...
What's
the atmosphere like behind the scenes at the X-Factor?
"When I went for my first audition, in Birmingham, I waited
for three hours in a queue, before getting sent to the holding area
where I waited for another hour. The atmosphere is quite electric
and exciting because the place is full of larger than life characters,
who are only too pleased to get up and give everyone a song. The
room is also full of production crew and camaramen and people loved
to play up to the cameras. But when your number is called through
to audition in front of the producers for the show, the nerves really
kick in."
How
long have you been singing? How did you get started?
"I started singing when I went for the first series of Pop
Idol in 2001. This was the first time I ever sang in public and
I managed to get down to the final 60 people. Although, I did not
sing again for a couple of years and that is when I started out
on the cabaret circuit. I sing in a few Blackpool hotels and a casino
in Liverpool, but I am always looking for new venues..."

What
was the waiting like before your audition?
"After an audition for the producers, you are then called back
a month later to audition for BMG record people, and finally you
get through to see the celebrity judges. This is where I felt the
most nervous, knowing what awaited me... "
And
when you were finally in front of the judges..?
"The room with the judges in was very large and a lot of producers
are sitting around the sides of the room. I was shaking, but I kept
thinking that this is my moment and I just gave it my all. The judges
gave me very positive comments about my singing (and a few not so
positive comments about my ripped jeans!) and I got a 'yes' from
all three of them. I felt so emotional then and could not wait to
go out and tell my family."
So,
what do you think it's going to be like in Boot Camp?
"I am looking forward to see what awaits me at Boot Camp, and
I know that I will give 110% effort."
Which
judge would you love to get in Boot Camp and why?
"There is not one particular judge that I would like, as I
respect each and every one of them. Of course, Simon Cowell is the
main man, as his opinion seems to strike a chord with tv viewers,
but I am just grateful to get to Boot Camp and look forward to meeting
my judge."
Are
you willing to change your image for the programme?
"I am willing to change my image, as the judges are very successful
in the music industry and they know what it takes to succeed. So,
yes I am more than willing to do whatever it takes - within reason!"
Are
you getting recognised in Blackpool since you appeared on the X-Factor?
"The responses that I have been getting from people in Blackpool
have been FANTASTIC. I have been constantly recognised since the
show was aired. Everyone has been really complimentary and I have
been spotted in my taxi, at the gym, in the supermarket and in my
daughters' school playground - where I was mobbed with children!"
And
finally, whatever happened to Steve Brookstein?!
"Well I hope he'll be there to hand over his X Factor crown
to me!"
