When
she was eight the family moved to Nice, in the south of France where
she learned to speak French in a local school.
Scarlett returned to England at 14 to take her GCSE’s,
and then went on to 6th form college in Winchester where she studied
Art & Design at advanced GNVQ level for two years gaining a
distinction.
She is currently working and living in Winchester,
raising funds for her travelling.
Scarlett will be taking part in leg 3, sailing from
Hawaii to Hong-Kong, and then hopes to spend a few months back-packing
around Australasia before returning home to attend art college.
She
first started sailing in the Mediterranean, on the last holiday
her family took together before her father died, when she was nine.
"My
dad started up the sense of adventure in me, he travelled a lot
for his job in motor-racing, and gave me a great thirst to see the
world."
