He
was born in Jersey, and was educated at Victoria College and the
University of Aberdeen (graduating with a 1st Class BSc Hons Zoology).
He is currently living and working in St. Helier.
Marcus had always been interested in participating in a race of
this type but his desire was crystallised when he stood at the entrance
to the harbour and watched Jersey Clipper (with some good friends
as crew members) arrive at its home port.
The
local support was amazing and he hopes that this will continue to
be the case. "I am sure that the crew of the 2002 Jersey Clipper
will do our utmost to live up to the fine example set by the previous
crew." he said.
His
main interests lie in reading, travelling, socialising and water
sports. "What could be a better way of enjoying these pastimes
by combining them all in such an adventure as this whilst representing
Jersey at the same time? I am very much looking forward to the racing
and cannot think of a better way to arrive at such fantastic locations."
