Fred is happily married to Gill with two grown
up children and three grandsons.
Fred
has been sailing most of his life and has been a member of the St.
Helier Yacht Club for over 35 years. He actively participated in
most of the local yacht racing until about 10 years ago, then concentrated
on cruising.
A race
from Las Palmas to St. Lucia (known as the ARC - Atlantic Rally
for Cruisers) in November 1993 gave him the taste for long distance
sailing. "The opportunity to combine this with representing
Jersey was a chance not to be missed." he said.
Fred
is sailing leg 6 from Brazil to New York and across the Atlantic
to Jersey, finishing in Liverpool.
