TWO TOWN MAD Leicester Clock TowerIn 1963 all of the main streets in Leicester converged on the Clock Tower. It was the place that Leicester folk used to come and dance around on New Year's Eve. It was also the place according to Tony Stanger that, "you met anyone if you had a grievance over the year. You met on the Clock Tower and you'd have a 'straightner' if you fell out - it was fisty cuffs in our day". |  |
