The objectives of the trial:

Push ADSL technology to its limit:
A focus has been to replicate and yet evolve enhanced TV programmes surrounding important sporting events and other mainstream BBC programming.

Along the way we've tested new interactive applications around programming such as BBC Radio Humberside's Raw Talent, a local unsigned band competition and EastEnders catch-up episodes.

To serve a local audience:
Project Hull has been working hard to provide local audiences with programmes and content specifically relevant to them. The Trench Chat forum, a world's first, allowed viewers to send in questions directly to an after show chat forum.

Thunder Road is a locally produced drama with a wealth of interactive content attached to it.

Aid to learning:
One of the biggest challenges for Project Hull is to provide students and schools with content relevant to their studies.

SOS teacher is perhaps one of the most inventive and relevant interactive applications ever produced.

Students emailed and telephoned their questions about their course work and teachers answered their questions via Video on Demand sessions just a few minutes later. Latterly these were made available in a live situation which were also carried on local radio.
