In the first of four special episodes, Adam Henson meets a new generation of farmers navigating the challenges and opportunities of producing our food. Along the way, Adam gets a glimpse into their daily lives, exploring how they are facing the growing uncertainty in the industry and seeing what innovations they have embraced to secure the future of their farms.

Travelling to Bala in Gwynedd, north Wales, he meets 23-year-old sheep and cattle farmer Erin McNaught. A fourth-generation farmer, Erin manages around 250 acres across three sites in partnership with her grandfather. Adam joins her on the daily rounds to discover the realities of running a traditional hill farm and hears how she is balancing the responsibility of carrying on a family legacy with the need to build a resilient business for the future.

Adam also looks back through the show's archives at some of the inspirational young farmers we have met across the UK.
