Creative Producers From The Other and music producer and songwriter Charlie Deakin-Davies are collaborating with a collection of Salford musicians, forged in its neighbourhoods and communities, to tell the story of the city and its people. Part of Salford's Centenary programme, Songs of Salford is a new body of music that reflects life in Salford in 2026, beyond The Dirty Old Town.
Two of the participating artists - Matt Concannon, otherwise known as The Thirsty Poet, and poet, rapper and DJ Meduulla - join us at Contains Strong Language to discuss the project, which has engaged with communities from Age Friendly Salford, Salford Youth Zone, and music engineering students from University of Salford.
