BBC Symphony Orchestra Maida Vale Concerts 2023/24 Nil Venditti conducts the BBC Symphony Orchestra in Puccini, Mozart and Casella

The BBC Symphony Orchestra is delighted to welcome the acclaimed young Italian-Turkish conductor Nil Venditti for her debut in this free afternoon studio concert at Maida Vale. She brings music by two Italian composers and Mozart.

The concert begins with Giacomo Puccini’s heart-melting Preludio Sinfonico. Then the BBC Symphony Orchestra is joined by BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Giorgi Gigashvili for Mozart’s early Piano Concerto No. 2 K39. And to end there’s a rarely-heard orchestral showcase chosen by Nil Venditti: Alfredo Casella’s Concerto for Orchestra.
