GCSE Exam Results - What Now?

There's no need to panic when your results arrive

After all the months of hard work and all that waiting, your GCSE results are finally in your hands.

While it is only natural to feel a bit nervous, there is no need to worry.

Connexions Personal Advisers are available to offer advice and information on what to do next if you don't get the exam results you expected or still don't have a plan of what to do next by phoning

Connexions is a relatively new youth service providing advice, guidance, support and personal development opportunities for all 13 to 19-year-olds.

It brings together all the services that help young people and gives young people access to a personal adviser, someone to give impartial, honest and confidential advice.

Whether you didn’t do as well as you had hoped or did better than your wildest dreams, Hugh Gould from the Connexions Service, offers some hints and tips to help you aim as high as you can!

I’ve not got the grades... If you haven’t got the grades you need for sixth form or a college course – don’t panic!
	I'll just take all the exams again... It’s not possible to take all your GCSEs again as a full time course. But don't despair...
There must be a mistake! Mistakes in exam marking are rare, but they do happen...

	I did much better than I was expecting! Some people get a pleasant surprise when they get their results...




Getting straight into the job scene.. Schemes such as modern apprenticeships allow you to learn on the job and build up knowledge and skills so you can achieve qualifications and earn money at the same time...

If you’re between 13 and 19, you can talk to an impartial Connexions Personal Adviser, who will have information on a wide range of jobs, courses and training opportunities, and can help you make the best decision for you.
