It has to happen, long overdue, but what is really happening....the Eagle centre expansion, thats it,were is all the rest of the development i.e. riverlights (on hold) city living apartments at the old police station (on hold) new hotels...were are they, derby needs a 5 star hotel in the centre, oh yes jury,s hotel near the cathedral oh but wait a minute lots of protests, how dare any construction company build more than 10 storey,s high so thats a no go then, fed up, nothing big and bright gets the go ahead in derby, allways left behind notts and leicester, some people need to go to leeds or manchester really rocks there, lots of new build and old build together and it works, come on derby get your act together.

Are the new shops going to be cheap for businesses to rent? There is a huge turnover in the old Eagle Centre, and expense was the main reason. What's the point in building a new centre when half the lots in the old were empty?? And please please no more mobile phone and trendy teeny fashion boutiques!

I love the town as it is, i also like the new plans, we should have the new plans but leaving some of the old too, as we dont want to loose that, the bus station looks fab, no more getting soaked at the bus station

Hazel (No 3) is spot on. There is a dump 18 miles down the road called Nottingham. Why don't they go and bulldoze that insted of Derby?

Dave Coop
I hope when its all finished the council throw a huge party in the market place. Me and all the lads would attend.
