Fifteen inspirational unsung heroes have been recognised at the annual Community Champions awards at Pride Park Stadium. The award winners, selected by BBC Radio Derby and the Derby Telegraph from scores of nominations, were joined by celebrities to help make it an evening to remember. Derby businesswoman and reality television star Kavita Oberoi and Coronation Street actress Kathryn Hunt were amongst the famous faces handing out the 14 awards. Also there were Manjeeven Grewal and Georgia Groome, two young stars from the hit film 'Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging'. ![]() Fiona-Rose Mills & Dominic Heale And BBC East Midlands Today's Dominic Heale presented the Carer Award to Fiona-Rose Mills. All the award winners were nominated by people who recognise their value, dedication and the role they play in helping others by going out of their way in their community - but seeking no reward.
