Funniest animal moments on Blue Peter
From singing dogs to taking a lion for a walk, Blue Peter's had all sorts of amazing animals appear on the show...Sometimes with hilarious consequences! So sit back, relax and LOL at some of BP's brilliant animal moments.

Lulu the elephant
This clip from 1969 is perhaps the most famous funny animal clip in the history of British television. Lulu the baby elephant appeared on the show with her zookeeper Alec, but things quickly turned to chaos when Lulu decided to go to the toilet live on air!
Macro the kangaroo
Then there was the time when Macro the tea-drinking kangaroo decides to hop to freedom, followed by legendary BP presenter John Noakes doing a very good marsupial impression...only on Blue Peter!
Jack and the robot cats
Jack the cat wasn't too impressed when BP presenter Peter Duncan tried to introduce him to some robot cats. These early incarnations of a cyber-pet weren't too clever by today's standards, but were selling like 'hot-cats' in the 1980s!
Bubbles the guide cat
You've heard of guide dogs, Blue Peter has helped to train several throughout our history, but have you ever heard of a guide cat? We thought not! Well, meet Bubbles and you'll see why the idea never really took off...
Shep Wars
When John Noakes had a go at playing with a remote-controlled R2D2 back in 1978 he didn't realise that his faithful hound Shep would get jealous and attack poor R2! Star Wars? More like Shep Wars!
Valentine the lion
If you thought walking your dog was sometimes a bit of a chore, especially when your dog decides to pull on their lead, then imagine taking a lion on a walk! That's exactly what Valerie Singleton did back in 1969 when she took Valentine the lion for a walk to the shops. Well we guess the sign didn't say 'No lions allowed'...
Shep and the drums
John Noakes and Shep are back again, this time with record-breaking legend Roy Castle who performed one of the most bizarre musical performances in Blue Peter history. Starting off with the spoons and ending with the tubular bells, Roy was even joined by Shep midway through to help play the drums!
Marcus the singing dog
If you thought Shep playing the drums was a bizarre musical performance, then this next clip might just trump it. Meet Marcus the singing Afghan hound....we'll let the clip do the talking...or should we say howling?
