What is the summer solstice? 🌞

Did you know the summer solstice is the longest day of the year? The summer solstice is the day in the year when we get the most hours of sunshine, making it a long day and a shorter night!

This happens because Earth doesn’t spin straight up and down, it's on a tilt. As Earth goes around the Sun, this tilt changes how much sunlight different parts of the world get.

If Earth was not tilted, we’d still have weather like rain and wind, but we wouldn’t have big changes of temperature which cause change of seasons like spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Every day would be pretty much the same!
