Dilemma: An Awkward Blanky

Can you help Lily solve her dilemma?

Do any other teenagers out there still have a cuddle blanket? Asking for a friend...

Ok, maybe it's for me a bit. But I don’t sleep with it.

Ok, fine you got me. I do sleep with my cuddle blanket. I admit it! But I definitely haven’t given it a silly name.

The thing is, I’m going camping with the school in two days, it’s five nights away from home and I can’t sleep without Blanky!

I just don’t know what to do. I’ll be sharing a tent with half the class and I CAN’T let everyone see that I take a fluffy blanket to bed with me – it’s private! Imagine if Rob found out!

But I can’t sleep without it. If I leave Blanky behind I’ll have five nights without sleeping. I’ll be exhausted. 😵

What should I do?

Take my blanket on the school trip or leave it behind? Do you have a cuddle blanket or a favourite teddy? Have you ever been caught with it? Please leave comments below. I can’t be the only one, right?

I think this week has proved without a doubt that camping is NOT for me! 🚫

I am typing this from the campsite so I have to be quick. First of all, thanks so much for all your brilliant comments and suggestions and thanks to EVERYONE who told me their stories about teddies and blankets! I'm glad it's not just me!

There were a few of you, like catpony and TealSprinkles01, who actually suggested that other people on the camping trip might have teddies or blankets too! Wow, that would be awesome.

But I wasn't brave enough to take the risk 😟  I decided to leave Blanky behind and just try and manage without him. So far so good, but I should have known… My mum packed it as a surprise! Guess what fell out of my rucksack in front of Rob!

I didn’t know what to do so I sort of panicked and threw Blanky over my shoulder where it landed on a passing manure truck! The next thing I knew my precious Blanky was driving off into the stinky sunset.

I think Rob’s avoiding me because I haven’t seen him since. But more important than that… I am never going to see Blanky again! 😢

Jas is offering to find me a replacement but it won’t be the same. Basically I’m never going to get to sleep again.

What should I do now? Please help!

You know what? I think camping might be for me after all 😄

As I suspected, Jas’ flannel just couldn’t replace Blanky, but at least she tried. Still, after one horrible sleepless night without my blanket I was ready to give up. I decided to call my mum to come and get me.

That was until I found out Rob had a surprise for me…

He had rescued Blanky!!!

It turns out he hadn’t been avoiding me at all, he’s just gone to hunt down the manure truck and bring back my blanket!!! I mean it’s not exactly in perfect condition… 

But who cares! My boyfriend is a hero! A manure-smelling, blanket- saving hero! 🙌🏻

It’s the most romantic thing anyone’s ever done for me ❤ … Right up until he went for that hug. I mean thanks and everything but maybe next time he could have a bath first! 😷
