Thanks for all your suggestions about how to get the telescope back from Jas!

I decided to follow SepiaBrainyKid and GreenViolinFairy’s suggestion and try to sneakily swap the telescopes back…

Unfortunately, Jas caught me trying to sneak the V.E.S.T out of her bag.

I felt SO guilty that I let her take the V.E.S.T. AND bought her a massive chocolate ice cream to say sorry. Ice cream and Jas is never a good mix…

But then guess what happened…?

Jas found a rare comet which meant we got an A+ in our science project!

I should have just let her take it to begin with and been entirely honest with her like a LOT of you suggested.

Now all we have to do is get the telescope back to school in one piece…

… As soon as we’ve cleaned the ice cream off it.

Can I have some advice please? Should I tell my friend I lied to her?

I tried to avoid working with my clumsy friend Jas...and now I’ve made things even worse!

Thanks for all of your suggestions, they gave me lots of great ideas.

I was tempted to go with the advice from PlumRaindropDragon, OliveFloweryBluebird and BlueBlackGreatPony, and just be honest with Jas, but I didn’t want to hurt her feelings.

Instead, I went with the advice of PinkPaintingHippo and BrownRappingElf - I decided to give Jas a fake telescope and just tell her it is the Very Expensive School Telescope.

It pretty much looks the same. Well, kind of.

I don’t think she noticed, so the plan seemed to be going great… I thought I’d got away with it, but the telescopes got mixed up and somehow she took the real one home?!

I have to get it back before she breaks it!!

I need some suggestions please!

How can I avoid working with my clumsy friend Jas?

According to my research, planet Venus is very clear in the night sky this month and I have been lent the Very Expensive School Telescope (aka The V.E.S.T) to observe it. I know! So exciting!

One slight problem.

Jas wants to work on the project with me...

Here is a picture of the last thing I lent to Jas.

She breaks EVERYTHING.

If the school telescope gets broken I’ll never be able to borrow it again.

But I can’t tell my best friend I don’t want to work with her!!

What should I do?

I’m in the library until Monday researching lunar cycles, but please please please leave your comments and suggestions below, I need all the help I can get!

(PS Also look out for planet Venus, it looks like a very bright star and is visible until the end of July!)
