Great Martha songs everyone!
Thanks so much for voting that I should try and talk Jas out of singing the song; I told Jas the truth and she agreed not to play the Bestie song in assembly.
Even better…Mrs Griggs let Astronomy Club sing a Martha song instead. Martha was delighted!
Plus I was saved the embarrassment of the Bestie Song... Or so I thought… Just as we were about to leave Jas’ phone went off in assembly.
She’d forgotten it was her ring tone!

I decided to take lie to Jas to get her to stop singing the song. I told her she could break her voice if she keeps singing. (It could happen! You never know!)
I told her the best way to avoid BVD ('Broken Voice Disease') is to save her voice and only sing the song on very special occasions.
Unfortunately Jas decided to save the song forever by recording it on to her phone. Now Mrs Griggs wants her to play it in assembly!
Meanwhile Martha is trying to get a “Martha” verse added to the song but Jas says she can’t think of a rhyme.
Should I try and talk Jas out of playing the song in assembly?
And, more importantly, can anyone come up with a rhyming word for “Martha”?!

How do I get myself into these messes?
It started on Saturday night. Jas and I made up this funny song together at my sleepover...
What? Trust me it sounded funny when it was just the two of us.
Problem is, Jas keeps singing it at school; registration, break, even in the lunch queue. I wouldn’t mind if she maybe did it quietly, but she gets pretty shouty by the last line and people keep staring.
Meanwhile, Martha is feeling left out because we made up a song without including her.
So, here’s what I want to ask.
Should I tell my friend I’m embarrassed about the song we wrote together? Is Martha right to feel left out?
How can I stop Jas singing it?!
Should I try and talk Jas out of playing the song in assembly?
