Hello there. I’m Darrell Rivers and I’ve just started attending Malory Towers. Will you be my pen pal? I’ll write to you each week and it would be lovely to have you write back.

I finally learnt the truth about Sally and her little sister. Sally also learnt the real truth as we both hid under the bed listening to Miss Potts and Sally\u2019s mother talking. It turns out that Mrs Hope was ill after bringing Daphne home from the hospital and didn\u2019t want Sally to look after them both, giving her the opporttu chance\u00A0of a great education at Malory Towers instead. Miss Potts was pleased that I wrote to Mrs Hope because telling a grown-up how unhappy Sally was, is the right thing to do. I\u2019m so glad Sally decided to stay, especially as we have some ghost detecting to do! I found a mysteryous hooded cloak in the San, which means someone is going around pretending to be Lady Jane Malory! I also found out that the reason I see words jump about isn\u2019t because I\u2019m slow - I might have something called word-blindness. I thought it sounded dreadful but Miss Potts said I just needed the right kind of attention and they will give me the help I need. I just want to be normal but I suppose there is no \u2018normal\u2019, everyone has their own diffrences \u2014 it\u2019s a good thing! What makes you different?

Dear Freinds, It seems that word-blindness is quite common and you agree with Miss Potts that I just need the right kind of help. Sorry to hear that some of your diffrences led\u00A0to bullying, that should never ever be the case. Some people are smaller or taller, left-handed, have different types of hair, have certain likes or dislikes compared to their freinds\u2026so there\u00A0really isn\u2019t\u00A0a \u2018normal\u2019. \u00A0Having different medical conditions or having different\u00A0responsibilitys or looking different \u2013 without these diffrences, the world would be a very boring place! I\u2019m so glad to have you all as pen pals. Celebrate your differnces and I will do the same with mine.
