Note: An adult will need to supervise this craft! Please be careful with scissors, painting and pouring.
Draw your animal head shape onto cardboard.
Use your yoghurt pot lid to draw two circles for the eyes, that will be cut out so you can see through your mask.
Time to decorate with paint, tissue paper, pompoms, glitter, pens - whatever you like.
To make your googly eyes, cut four white circles from card to make the eyeballs, and four smaller circles from black card to make the pupils.
Glue a line of string inbetween two white circles leaving string hanging out each side (do this twice to make two double-sided eyes).
Drop the black pupil circle into the yoghurt pot lid, lie the white circle on top, then add the second black pupil circle on top of that. Finally, glue or tape a second yoghurt pot lid on the very top, as though you're making a layered sandwich. This makes one googly eye.
Tape or glue the string coming out of either side of each googly eye by the cut out eye holes of the cardboard.
To make your headband, cut a thick strip of cardboard and make an arch (the size of your head) at the back of the mask, secured with glue.
Let everything dry and then show your amazing animal mask off to everyone you know!
