The Blue Peter ship, carved into a slice of a tree trunk using a soldering iron. Made by Macey from Bridgend, Wales.

5th July

This week, Post of the Week has been awarded to Macey, 10, from south Wales. She has skilfully carved the Blue Peter ship into a slice of a tree trunk, and it looks magnificent! Macey's hard work has earned her a Silver badge!

Macey drew the ship in pencil using a paper template she had created, then went over the pencil with a soldering iron (a heated metal point), to burn the ship into the wood. Soldering irons get extremely hot, and should only be used with help from a grown-up!

We like how the Blue Peter text follows the rings in the wood grain!

The ship is very detailed and neatly drawn. It is such a unique idea, we love it!
