Amazing animal dads
This Father's Day, we wanted to give a shout out to some incredible parents from the animal kingdom. These doting dads go above and beyond to make sure that their offspring gets the best start in life. Go dads!

Seahorse
No one does fatherhood quite like the seahorse! Seahorse dads carry eggs from the mum in a special brood pouch and incubate them for around 45 days. The dad then gives birth to the tiny baby seahorses, known as fry.
Emperor Penguin

Throughout the bitter Antarctic winter, emperor penguin dads keep a single egg balanced on top of their toes, covered with a fold of skin. They huddle together to share warmth and don't even get a break to eat until their partner returns after about two months. How's that for dedication?!
Lion
It might look like male lions spend a lot of time laying around while the lionesses do all the work, but these dads know when to step up. If he senses danger approaching, a male lion will stop at nothing to protect his family.
Rhea

After laying her eggs, a female rhea will leave the dad to it. Male rheas incubate the eggs, guard the nest and even raise the chicks alone. That's one super dad!
Marmoset

Marmoset dads don't shy away from hard work; from the moment their babies are born they scoop them up and are responsible for carrying them around until they are old enough to get about by themselves.
Wolf
Female wolves remain in the den with their pups for several weeks after giving birth and during this time the doting dad stands guard outside. When the pups are able to start eating meat at around three weeks old the dads step up again; hunting for prey and bringing it back to the den to feed their growing families.
