Bob Beggs
Bristol skipper Bob Beggs enjoys the New York sunshine

31 August 2001
from Clipper Race Office

The great day has finally come.

The Clipper crews no longer plan their day around visiting even more exciting and wonderful places in New York. Today as they wake up they will make early trips back to their racing steeds.

All the yachts are now full of fuel, water and food. The repaired sails are back on board and everyone is ready for Senator Horsfall from Jersey island to fire the gun and send the fleet away for their third Atlantic crossing.

Let the battle commence.
