Mohammad
Ishbaq was of school age when he arrived in Bradford.
While at school Mohammad was photographed taking part in school
activities and with his fellow pupils.
He says: "When I went to school, most of the local kids, the white
kids wanted to be friends with me because they'd never seen an Asian
kid as such, so I had a very good impression of this country, that
everybody was nice and it was a good place to be. I never thought
about race at all. I was accepted and I never paid it a second thought.
But in 1961 or 1962 a few more Asians started to arrive from Pakistan
and then I did start to notice thet change in attitude that started
to take place."
