| Their
latest production - Badone |
Combining
fairytale and folklore and a wicked modern attitude, Women & Theatre's
new production 'The Bad One' will be touring three theatres in Birmingham
and the Black Country.
'Do we all need a little badness in our souls
to keep us balanced and
whole?'
Inspired by 'Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde', 'The Bad One' explores the impact
of suppressing natural desires and extreme emotions.
It's the intriguing story of Jackie - a poor, lonely orphan who lived
with her grandmother on the edge of town - it's a cautionary tale
of unrequited life
'The Bad One' is written by Women & Theatre's Artistic Director
and Founder Janice Connolly, best known to comedy fans as Holy Mary
in Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights on Channel 4. She's also an accomplished
comic writer as well as performer.
Janice heads a strong cast including; Gary Turner (from Emmerdale),
Alison Carney (most recently seen in the David Hare Trilogy at Birmingham
Rep) and Jill Norman (from Kaos Theatre).
