How to become a waste warrior: Grace's story

Part of Careers

Meet Grace, 23, from Lincoln, and find out how her interest in food manufacturing led to her job as a waste warrior, otherwise known as a food manufacturing inspector, for McVities. Part of our Bitesize world of work series.

The main thing I love about my job is getting to spend time in our factories.
  • Grace works in a biscuit factory and it's her job to make sure the company wastes as little of their biscuits as possible
  • She studied Mechanical Engineering at university which has helped her understand the process of how biscuits are made
  • Grace found she was one of a few girls on her course and this has motivated her to prove what women can achieve.
