Toto the cheetah cub with his mother

1. Toto with his mum, Honey

Toto's story
Toto, meaning 'little one' in Swahili, was the youngest cheetah we'd ever filmed on Big Cat, probably around 7-8 weeks old when we first arrived. He must only just have been let out of the den, and though still suckling frequently, he had to be left alone for long periods when his mother (later identified as Honey) needed to hunt.

This part of the plain is full of lions, hyenas and baboons who would think nothing of killing him, so every time Toto was left was fraught with potential danger.
