Kamla still hasn't come home, and Rita asks Jas if she can make the dinner - as Kamla would normally help. Jas gets frustrated: how can she do the housework and revise, and why isn't her mum worried about Nani Ba? She shouldn't be out on her own. Rita is getting exasperated with the kids around the house all day (it's half term), and when Pradeep gets in he takes them out to the allotment.
Mushtaq drives Mani into the suburbs to show him his new house. As they drive they reminisce about their early days in Silver Street, and Mani again tells Mushtaq that he shouldn't be so hard on his children.
At the café, Kuljit puts up another shelf for Jodie, and then turns on the charm - turning the lights down, the music up, and reading her palm. But the mood is shattered when a brick flies through the window - Kuljit chases straight after the vandals and gets pelted with rocks for his pains. Jodie has started to sweep up the mess when Sway walks in. He tries to help her, but Jodie is defensive and says she can do it herself. She's worried about why someone might be targeting her, and Sway tries to cheer her up. As they are laughing Kuljit bursts in - what's happened to him?
