The Wind-Ups Birds, an excellent choice! Best kept secret in Leeds, not anymore...

Hibbsy - Ha Noi
Great stuff, especially pleased to see that The Wind-Up Birds are getting the recognition they richly deserve. If there is a better lyricist writing in Leeds right now I would love to hear him/her. NB - Jon Duels is now in Sheffield.

Charlie Cat, Lincoln
Great show RP, have you done this before, you were very good. Loved the great selection of tracks you played, hard to believe so much good music can come out of one city. Pity you only had an hour.

Jo, London
Great selection of music, cheers!

Karen and Jo, Kirkstall, Leeds
We listened to this last night, it was all great stuff, in particular Shatner, Paddingtons and it was great to hear Fonda 500 on the radio again. The Eureka Machines track will be a massive hit, it's poptastic mate! We couldn't believe it was the guy from Sisters of Mercy, surely they're total opposites! Not seen Napoleon 3rd before either so will look out for them.

Andy, Hull
Analogue Consumption - wow, they were totally wicked.

Sam Saunders : Otley
I thoroughly enjoyed all that last night. Thanks! For every one good Leeds/Yorkshire band in that playlist there are another three as good (or better) who had to be left out. Grammatics, Sky Larkin, Quack Quack, Wintermute, Mucky Sailor - so many others. And I think you did play iLiKETRAiNS but haven't listed them.

WillyG Leeds
Great hearing the Scaramanga Six & Stateless getting some airplay. Some really cool stuff on that program. Keep up the good work.

Deborah, LEEDS!!
That was an excellent selection last night, Everything In Leeds Is Brilliant as the Kaiser Chiefs say!! The stand out tracks was the Scaramanga Six and Middleman who I have heard before, and Eureka Machines who I haven't, any info on this band?

RPC, Leeds
Cheers for the feedback people, and thanks to 6Music for the opportunity to play some ace music from our fair region!Chris Irwin, London - move! I did.Glad to see people digging The Wind-Up Birds and Napoleon IIIrd. Glad people seem to like Shatner too. The new album 13 o'Clock is due out in November I think and sounds even better than the first one from what I've heard, so go see them. Let's hear it for the old folks!I could have filled 6 hours with quality stuff from round here, so like you say it's a shame to miss so much out, but you've got to draw the line somewhere! Thanks, RPC.

Chris James, Emley, West Yorkshire
Excellent Leeds choice, the more I hear Shatner, the more I love them, and I loved the Eureka Machines track, but the problem is who to leave out?No Sunshine Underground?Avenues?Mickey Charbagz?Rob Nichols?Kid Id?I Like TRains?

chris irwin, london
Napoleon IIIrd. has a song ever summed up my life better than that? pure class.

Dave, Sunderland
What a great selection of music! Shatner were a revelation. I'm moving to Leeds

Chris Irwin, London
Great selection Rob! Scaramanga Six are my favourite so far. Maybe i'm based in the wrong city?

Gail, leeds.

will in leeds

claire
Hurrah for Leeds music. What an amazing scene

Steven Blackpool
The only musically interesting out of Sheffield in the last 20 years is Heather Allen...all those in the know will agree.

Kev in Manchester
Best band I heard was a band called wind up birds, got a cd off them, absolutly brilliant

Big E from the Isle of Man
We agree with you the Wind up Birds are FANTASTIC we saw them in Leeds and thought they had a great sound and really original lyrics. Good choice to play them.

Mat Leeds
By the way, it's The Wind-Up Birds. Cheers!

mfh london
Anyone remember the band before The Wind Up Birds track...just now!?This stuff is pretty good...

Sam Saunders : Otley
That's Yorkshire, then. The NME tried the "NY Shire" tag, and it never stuck, did it? It's good to be hearing Seattle's finest (¡Forward, Russsia!) as I type this. Anticipating more great tracks.
