Woman shot in head
police tape
The woman was badly hurt
A 33-year-old woman was left seriously injured after she was shot in the head in an attack in Nottingham.

The woman was walking down Ilkeston Road in the city at about 0230 GMT on Saturday morning when she was shot.

She is currently in intensive care in the city's Queen's Medical Centre, a police spokesman said.

Although happening in the early hours, the shooting was on a normally busy road, near the junction with Radford Boulevard.

Police cordoned off the area around the shooting while they examined the crime scene.

The police have not released the woman's identity or given any indication as to a motive for the vicious attack.

Anyone with information is urged to contact CID on 0115 967 0999.
