In pictures: Indian train crash
Emergency services in the eastern Indian state of Bihar have been fighting to free survivors trapped in a luxury train after it derailed crossing a bridge.
The Calcutta-Delhi express jumped the tracks near Gaya
One carriage plunged into the river. Others were left hanging
Carriages were thrown in the air as the train jack-knifed
Most of the more than 500 passengers on board survived
Many others were less fortunate
Officials are not sure whether monsoons or sabotage are to blame
Anxious relatives of passengers awaited news at Calcutta station
