Jersey beats Guernsey in awards
Jersey has been named the best international finance centre at an awards ceremony in London.

The island beat Guernsey, the Isle of Man and Luxembourg at the International Investment's Fund and Product Awards.

Judges said they were impressed by the innovation Jersey had shown during the past year.

Former island politician Pierre Horsfall, who is also chairman of Jersey Finance, received the award on behalf of the island.

He said there was tough competition from the other finance centres, but because the island had tightened and adapted its rules for banks and other finance companies working there, it stood out.
