Zoo trust gets overseas aid grant
Some of the money set aside by the government in Jersey to aid countries has been spent on communities living near threatened wildlife.

The Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust received a grant of nearly £50,000 from the States Overseas Aid Committee.

The money went towards projects in Madagascar and Mauritius, where the trust works with conservationists.

The trust said the money was not spent on animals, but helping communities to conserve their natural environments.
