Approval for elderly housing plan
Planners have given the go-ahead for 26 new homes to be built for older people in Jersey.

The Les Vaux Housing Trust wants to build the development at Aquila House in St Helier.

Jersey's Housing department has highlighted the need for more homes to cope with an ageing population.

The one-bedroom flats are being built close to town at the bottom of Great Union Road on the site of the old Aquila youth club.

There will be wheelchair access and 11 parking spaces at the site.

All the tenants will pay their rents to Les Vaux Housing Trust, which manages the property.
