Soldiers and former members of the Hampshire Regiment have celebrated Jersey's part in a decisive 18th century battle.
A parade took place in Minden Place in St Helier on Sunday morning to commemorate the British Army defeating the French in the Seven Years War.
The Battle of Minden took place in Germany on 1 August 1759.
While the British regiments attacked the French, soldiers picked roses and put them in their head dresses.
It has been the tradition ever since on Minden Day for those regiments to do the same.
The son of the Constable of St Helier, a Captain Le Geyt, commanded a Grenadier Company at the battle and returned a local hero. He became Jersey's first Post Master General.
