Jersey senator quits ruling party
Senator Paul le Claire has left the Jersey Democratic Alliance (JDA).

The senator has accused its interim chairman Deputy Geoff Southern of not listening to its members.

Senator Le Claire says he will join a different party if it is formed, but in the meantime says he is not "diametrically opposed to the JDA".

However Mr Southern said: "He must recognise he can't have a foot in both camps - he has decided to resign and must be seen as a rival."
