Island games plans 'going well'
Guernsey Games
The 2003 games were held in Guernsey
Preparations for the 2005 Island Games are said to be going well.

Organisers in Shetland say the plans to host up to 2,500 competitors over a week in July are progressing smoothly.

Channel Island teams will join 23 other islands to compete in sports ranging from athletics and swimming to table tennis and clay pigeon shooting.

Two cruise ships will host 1,300 of the competitors this summer, the remainder will be put up in island schools and community centres.

The 2003 games were staged in Guernsey.
