JEC rules out further water bid
Jersey's Electricity Company (JEC) has said it will not make another attempt to buy Jersey Water.

JEC had made an offer to buy the States-owned company last summer but it was turned down.

An independent review launched into its future concluded it should remain in States control.

The chief executive of JEC, Mike Liston, said the decision was a disappointment and spelled the end of any further buy-out plans.

Of the other utilities, Jersey Telecom is wholly owned by the States but Jersey Gas is privately owned.
