Tax cash will aid income support
Money generated by the new goods and services tax will help to pay for Jersey's new income support system.

Under the new system, 12 benefits will be abolished and replaced by a single system based on household income.

The Finance and Economics Committee is giving the £20m needed to cover costs while the income support system comes into force.

The committee say it will get the £20m back from the introduction of the goods and services tax.
