Strike threat at sports centres
Staff at Jersey sport centres are threatening to walk out of work on Monday in a dispute over Christmas and New Year working patterns.

Rotas have been changed by the Education, Sport and Culture Department to suit the centres' opening hours for the holiday period.

But union officials say they want the States department to go back to previous working patterns.

Senator Mike Vibert says he is hopeful a strike can be avoided.

Mr Vibert, the committee president, has been in contact with union officials and further talks are expected.
