Politicians hear voice of youth
Young people in Jersey have elected their own committee to tell politicians what they think.

After a weekend discussing how the Youth Council will work, the committee has decided it will be headed by Julianne Dix, 17, from Hautlieu School.

The council has 14 members who will invite States members to discuss various issues, including university grants and bus travel.

The idea of a Youth Council came out of the Imagine Jersey discussion events.

Youngsters at the meetings said they wanted more of a say in what happens on the island.
