Plans to more than double the size of a town hotel have been approved in principle by Jersey's authorities.
The owners of the Royal Yacht Hotel at the Weighbridge have been given permission to build more rooms if they change their original plans.
The owners of the hotel want to demolish the old bus station and replace it with a six-storey extension.
When the work is complete it will provide the hotel with 73 new bedrooms, function rooms and bars.

The owners also want to make alterations to the existing 42-bedroom hotel, which includes a popular late night bar and restaurant.
Initial planning permission was deferred, but now the planning sub-committee says if revised plans for the front of the hotel and the side facing the Jersey Museum restaurant are put forward, then it will be approved.
