Police are investigating whether seagulls which were found dead in Jersey were deliberately poisoned.
Fourteen ill and dead birds were discovered at Les Quennevais playing fields on Monday.
Six were already dead, the others died later at the Jersey Animal Shelter. The remains of the birds are being analysed.
Jersey Police said that if the birds were poisoned, it was not only illegal, but also highly irresponsible.
Officers said that those responsible could be putting the lives of children and other animals at risk.
