The number of jobless people in Jersey is now 754
The latest unemployment figures for Jersey show there are fewer people out of work in the island compared to the previous month.

Figures released for March show the number of people looking for a job was 754 as opposed to 758 in February.

The politician with responsibility for employment says he is encouraged by the figures.

But Senator Paul Routier said his committee will continue to monitor the situation closely.

The Employment and Social Security Department says the number of job vacancies continues to grow.

There were 93 in February and in March that rose to 150.

The department is currently running a number of schemes to help people find a job.
