Garden restoration plans revealed
The garden at Chateau La Chaire Hotel at Rozel
The garden was designed by Samuel Curtis
Formal plans to restore the gardens at Jersey's Chateau La Chaire hotel have been revealed.

They are being proposed by UK garden enthusiast Angie Petkovic.

The plans, by Queree Architects, include changing the hotel gardens to make separate botanical gardens.

But the proposals have been opposed by some islanders who dispute whether it is a good use of Tourism Development Fund (TDF) money.

The project to restore Samuel Curtis's gardens at Rozel, which he created in the 19th Century, has attracted international interest.

But some islanders think the plans are not the best use of £1.6m of TDF cash.

Islanders can view the plans, which include providing a ramped walkway and visitors' centre at Rozel, at the planning department on South Hill.
