Puffins population on the decline
An expert is warning the number of puffins visiting the Bailiwick's shores is declining, with more than 50% of the population disappearing since 1992.

Research is currently being carried out on the island of Burhou, off Alderney, to determine the source of the problem.

Tony Grange of the RSPB thinks rising sea temperatures and declining food sources due to over fishing could be partly to blame.

Puffins are currently starting their annual migration to the North Atlantic.
