Police hunt for armed shop raider

Police have launched a hunt for a man who threatened a Guernsey shopkeeper at knife point.

A quantity of money was stolen during the incident which happened at Union Street Stores in St Peter Port at about 1540 GMT on Tuesday.

It is the second armed robbery in the island in two weeks.

The man was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and a black scarf across his face and police are appealing for help from anyone who might have seen him.

Det Insp Terry Coule said: "We would like to hear from anyone who saw a person acting suspiciously in the area.

"We would also like to hear from any householders who have found anything turn up on their property that they can't account for."
