Waiting lists for moorings should disappear within two years

A new marina in St Sampson's Harbour should wipe out the waiting list for moorings in Guernsey within two years.
But while Guernsey's harbourmaster, Captain Robert Barton, welcomed that prospect, he said it would only be a temporary lull.
He said that, by 2007, the waiting list would have begun to grow again.
He said expanding into the existing commercial harbour in St Sampson's could be a solution, but would not take place for a long time.
"It is a long way down the line," he said.
"We are talking about 15 years ahead, so we have no detailed plans for that.
